- ANGLE
- -A wrestling plot set up over several matches or shows
- BLADE
- -The practice of cutting oneself to produce JUICE.
- BLIND REF.
- -when a referee misses
heel tactics or is distracted by a valet or manager at ringside and missingthe action inside.
- BLOW UP
- -To become fatiqued or exhausted.
- BOOKER
- -An individual responsible for ANGLES,finishes,hirings,firings,and PUSHES.
- BUMP
- -a HIT OR FALL.
- CALLING
- -To tell your opponenet your next move..
- CARD
- -A series of matches at one place and at one time...
- CARRY
- -Help bring the WORKRATE up against a lesser opponent
- CHEAP HEAT
- -To generate heat through the bashing/praise of fans/towns on the microphone.
- CLEAN JOB
- -A loss by legal pinfall of submission without the use of cheating.
- CLEAN HOUSE
- -When a wrestler eliminates every other man in the ring..
- DRAW
- -To attreact fans or the ability of a wrestler to attract fans..
- DUD
- -aparticularly bad and
totally uninteresting match.
- FACE
- -The good guy.
- FALL
- -A referee's count of three.Some matches are two out of three FALLS.
- FUED
- - series of matches between
two wrestlers or two tag teams; many times they will interview and bad mouth
the other wrestler.

- FINISH
- -the event or sequence
of events which leads to the ultimate outcome of a match.
- FORIEGN OBJECT
- -an object which is not
allowed in a match, used as a weapon.
- GARBAGE
- -matches or promotions
that have no wrestling but pure violence.
- GIMMICK
- -a persona that a wrestler
is given.
- GREEN
- -not good due to inexperience
in the ring.
- HARDCORE
- -a fan who is really into
the sport.
- HARDWAY JUICE
- -Real blood produced by means other than BLADING.Usally a result of a hard BUMP or miss hit.
- HEAT
- -Crowd enthusiasm for a wrestler.
- HIGHSP0T
- -a particularly acrobatic
or high flying move.
- HOUSE
- -the wrestling audience
in the building.
- HOUSE SHOW
- -a wrestling event
un-televised.
- HEEL
- -The bad guy.
- INTERNATIONAL OBJECT
- -foreign object, something
not allowed in the ring.
- JOB
- -To lose a match.
- JOBBER
- -Someone who JOBS to get another wrestler OVER.
- JOBBER TO THE STARS (JTTS)
- -mid-card wrestler who
jobs to all the big name superstars.
- KAYFABE
- -The wrestling code of scilence to keep trade secrets.
- KILL
- -diminish or eliminate
heat or drawing power, generally by doing too many jobs to opponents who
are not credible.
- LIGHT
- -not connecting with
punches/kicks.
- MARK
- -A fan who falls for an ANGLE.
- OVER
- -To be popular with the fans.
- PAPER
- -complimentary tickets,
given to fans to make the arena look as if it sold out.
- POP
- -Sudden HEAT.(examples:Stone Cold Steve Austins ring entrance and when the Rock sets up for the corprate elbow produce a POP).
- POST
- -to run or be run into
the ringpost.
- POTATO
- -to injure a wrestler by
hitting him on the head or causing him to hit his head on
something.
- PROGRAM
- -a feud that will be touring
the country.
- PUSH
- -A series of wins givin by the BOOKER to a wrestler to get him OVER.
- PUT OVER
- -to do the job to help
your opponent get a push.
- RESTHOLD
- -Non damaging hold applied when wrestlers need a break or to figure out thier next move.
- RUN-IN
- -Interference by a non-particapant in a match.
- SAVE
- -A RUN-IN to protect a wrestler from being beaten up after a match
- SCREW-JOB
- -A FALL that dosn't end cleanly as a result of cheating or a RUN-IN.
- SCRIPT
- -the planned flow of the
match; also the deciding outcome of a match.
- SELLING
- -Reacting to a move.Doing a good job of acting like your opponite actually hurt you.(example:Screaming in pain when put in a submission hold)>
- SHOOT
- -The real thing.When a wrestler strays from a speach or really tries to hurt another wrestler to settle a real personal grudge.
- SMARK
- -a smart mark; a guy who
thinks he knows everything there is to know about wrestling; doesn't care
much for gimmicks or angles.
- SMART
- -A person who understands thr bussiness of pro-wrestling.The opposite of a MARK.
- SPOT
- -an event or sequence of
events which makes a particular match distinctive, a high-point of a
match.
- SQUASH
- -a totally passive job
where one wrestler completely dominates another.
- STABLE
- -a group of wrestler's
united to watch each other's backs.
- STIFF
- -a wrestler who cannot
manuever around the ring very swiftly; he doesn't have much flexibility or
stamina.
- STRETCH
- -a form of shoot where
one wrestler dominates rather than injures the other as a proof of personal
superiority.
- TAP OUT
- -to give into a submission
manuever.
- TIGHT
- -good close punches and
kicks that connect, may hurt a little, but do not incapacitate; working
stiff.
- TURN
- -When a HEAL swithes to a FACE or vice-versa.
- TWEENER
- -a wrestler who is part
heel and part face.
- WORK
- -A stadged act or interview.The opposite of a SHOOT
- WORKRATE
- -the approximate ratio
of good wrestling to rest holds in a match or in a wrestler's
performance.
